game was that you knew when something bad was about to go down there would be a slight hesitation in your frame rate, and I could hear the hard drive cueing-up some mayhem for the game to unleash on you. If you really want a play with Carter vibe via SP though, the Awakened DLC suffices IMO. The main writer of Dead Space 1, Glen Schofield, said himself he felt the direction they took 2 and 3 involving more outbreaks, made sense, and I agree.Ībout the only things about DS3 I find a bit off putting are the trashy love triangle dialog, and the missions and artifacts blocked from SP play due to Coop, but those bits comprise less then 10% of the game.

Once you know how to craft good ones and where to find the parts though, those monster waves are MUCH more manageable.

The 3rd fight with him though was pretty cool in how you could trap him and quickly dispose of him.Īt the end of it all, I couldn't help but think many just didn't take the time to get to know weapon crafting well in DS3, which even for me at first, was daunting. Granted, the 2nd fight with the giant spider was a huge ammo drain, but I always was able to go back to the place I found the probe parts, which had no monster spawns, to resupply. Instead DS3 upped the ante a bit in a more clever way IMO, via some epic boss fights OTHER than just the big cliff monster 1 had, and the Tormenter 2 had. And let's not forget those bullet sponge (for lack of a better word) Brutes in 1 and 2, which DS3 had NONE of. I'd often remind them even DS2, which seemed to be widely accepted by comparison, had plenty of moments of waves of monsters rushing the player. The main thing the DS3 haters echoed was the faster pace and more waves of enemies. You always as well though have many players wanting sequels to bring something new to a franchise to keep it fresh. Yeah, that was the typical bash, which I always felt was short sighted.

Background music is Silent Screams by Halford. It is best viewed on YT's default viewer size. It involved dubbing in some of the game's dialog audio (only the first 30 sec). This is one of a few videos I made where my focus was on humor and slow mo visuals.

I made a lot of videos of F.E.A.R, but unfortunately it was back when capture tech wasn't as good, and my PC wasn't the greatest.

1 was often times instead of bodies severing, you would get a strange physics bug where necks, etc, would stretch weirdly This included slo mo decapitations, limb severing, and even cutting bodies in half with the shotgun. If you so much as enabled Reflex just before an enemy walked toward a gas pipe valve, fire extinguisher, etc, then shot that device (even at it while they stood in front of it), you would often get some spectacular slo mo visuals. IMO was how it showcased the ability of enemy AI to utilize objects in the environment to tip over for cover, and how to player could use Reflex Boosters to get in some spectacular slow mo visuals. One of the best things about the original F.E.A.R. It was also a pretty short game, but all things considered, that was probably best to avoid getting burned out on the repetitive combat loop. 3 grew on me a bit like it did you OP, but I still couldn't help but think it was rather gimmicky in how you had to keep quickly moving from one enemy you possessed to another. Conversely, despite a lot of hate from fans on DS 3, which I still don't get, I think DS 3 was a better end to DS than F.E.A.R. was the best by a greater margin than was the original Dead Space, however the Dead Space Remake seems to be changing that. However I would say the original F.E.A.R. As it went on, it became more fast paced. franchise progressed a bit similarly to the way Dead Space did.
